Biog

Elena Degtyareva was born in Taskent, Uzbekistan. Her skills are as a Dancer, Dance Teacher and Choreographer. She was educated at The Russian Vaganova Ballet Academy (Uzbekistan) and graduated with a state diploma as a dancer for ballet, folk dance and musical. In Ireland, while studying at Inchicore College ( 2003 – 2007 ), Elena received qualifications as a Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet Teacher and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Modern Theatre Dance Teacher.

Since 2009 Elena holds a diploma in Etiquette Training to children and adults. She continues her professional development and updating her skills on yearly basis to stay up to date with the latest developments in dance, both for her own education and to share with her students. In 2011 she proudly set up the Dublin School of Dance & Etiquette.

Performed at Dublin Dance Festival and Fringe Festival

2002 – 2011
Over 16 years of teaching experience. Teaching ballet , modern and contemporary dance in various ballet schools including Marian Lennon Ballet School and National Dance Academy. Elena also works as a Gymnastics coach and choreographer in Coolmine Gymnastics Club

2004
Winner of Isadora Dance Competition Ireland

Participated in many international dance projects including cultural exchanges between Uzbekistan and France (Rennes) and ImPulsTanz  (Vienna, Austria ). Participated as a choreographer in student exchange program between Grenoble ( France ) and Ireland.

2000-2001
Worked as a choreographer and actress in ArtVick British-Russian theatre, London, UK

2000
Completed studies in degree course in teaching dance and choreography with distinction at Uzbek National Academy of Dance and Choreography also Elena participated as a dance member in contemporary experimental theatre based in Ilchom drama Theatre

1998 – 2000
Worked as an artist of Ballet in Tashkent state’s Musical Theatre

1994- 1998
Worked as a youngest dancer in ” Leak ” contemporary dance company


Teaching

2012  – Choreographer & Teacher
Artistic Gymnastics Club in Coolmine, Dublin and Rhythmic Gymnastics Club in Blanchardstown, D15

2011 – Leonardo Da Vinci Project
Participated as a choreographer in this cultural exchange which culminated in a show by the irish dance group in the Pacifique Centre in Grenoble, France. This show was also performed to the Irish Project Sponsors in Dublin on the groups return to Ireland.

2004 – to now
